Join us for a 3 km husky cart ride and a visit to our family-owned Alaskan husky ranch in the small village of Kurtakko. After the ride, enjoy drinks and sweet treats by the fire in our traditional laavu hut next to the dog yard.
Welcome to our home — a 100-year-old homestead where our energetic and lovable Alaskan huskies live. During your visit, you’ll get to experience what life is like with sled dogs and learn about their everyday life throughout the year.
3 km Husky Cart Ride
We’ll start by taking the dogs out for a training run with the carts. Our guide will drive the cart while you sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride as the dogs do what they love most — run!
After the 3 km ride, we’ll unharness the dogs and let them run freely in the dog yard. You’ll have time to get to know them up close, with plenty of opportunities for petting, cuddling, and meeting their individual personalities.
Our dogs are very social, energetic, and affectionate. During the visit, you may meet our working-age sled dogs, retired senior dogs, and young dogs and puppies.

At the end of the visit, we’ll gather in our laavu hut by the dog yard, where you can warm up and enjoy drinks and sweet treats while taking in the peaceful surroundings of our homestead.

Transfer to and from Husky Ranch Lapland.
The Pick up/drop off from and to Äkäslompolo/ Ylläsjärvi can be bought with an extra charge.

This activity is arranged outdoors. Please wear clothes suitable for the weather and please note the clothes might get dirty while cuddling with the dogs. You can borrow our parka jacket for the ride if it's cold weather.

We will charge a cancellation fee of 100% if booking is cancelled 30 days or less before the event
