Before making a reservation, please read these Terms & Conditions carefully.
These Terms & Conditions apply to all bookings made directly with Husky Ranch Lapland. By making a reservation, the person completing the booking confirms that they have read, understood, and accepted these Terms & Conditions on behalf of all members of their party and agrees to share them with all travel companions.
Confirmation of Reservation
Your booking is considered confirmed once the required booking fee has been paid and you have confirmed that you have read, understood, and shared these Terms & Conditions with all members of your party.
Cancellation Policy – Activities and Accommodation
The following cancellation fees apply:
More than 90 days before the event: No cancellation fee.
90–31 days before the event: A cancellation fee of 20% of the total booking price will be charged.
30 days or less before the event: A cancellation fee of 100% of the total booking price will be charged.
We recommend taking out suitable travel and cancellation insurance when making your reservation.
Participant Responsibility
Your safety and the wellbeing of our dogs are very important to us.
Before a husky safari begins, all participants will receive clear and thorough instructions on how to drive the sled safely and how to handle the dogs with care and respect.
By participating in a husky safari, you understand that you are responsible for your own actions and behaviour. During the activity, each participant must follow the instructions given by the guide and act in a way that helps keep themselves, other participants, guides, and the dogs safe.
This includes:
Following all instructions given by the guide.
Controlling your speed when necessary.
Driving and behaving responsibly according to the trail and conditions.
Handling the dogs calmly and respectfully at all times.
Informing the guide immediately if you feel unable to continue safely.
Our guides are present throughout the activity to provide instructions and assistance and to help ensure that the safari runs as safely and smoothly as possible.
Please note that husky safaris take place in a natural outdoor environment and involve inherent risks associated with winter conditions, animals, uneven terrain, and outdoor activities.
Insurance Requirement
All participants are responsible for ensuring that they have valid personal insurance covering accidents and health-related expenses.
We strongly recommend having:
Travel insurance
Cancellation insurance
Personal liability insurance
Insurance covering personal belongings
Appropriate health and accident insurance
Husky Ranch Lapland is not responsible for costs arising from insufficient or missing personal insurance.
Health and Physical Requirements
Husky safaris require a reasonable level of physical fitness, balance, and the ability to follow instructions.
All participants must be able to:
Control their body and maintain their balance during the activity.
Understand and follow safety instructions.
Understand the nature of the activity and behave safely around animals.
Treat the dogs and other participants with care and respect.
Weight Limit
The standard weight limit is 110 kg per person.
If a participant weighs more than 110 kg, this must be communicated to us in advance so that we can assess the situation and, where possible, arrange a suitable dog team.
Our available outdoor clothing is currently available up to approximately XXL.
Health Conditions and Additional Support Needs
If any participant has a health condition, injury, mobility issue, communication difficulty, or other circumstance that may affect their ability to participate safely or follow instructions, this must be communicated to us at least 24 hours before the activity.
This information allows us to assess the activity and make reasonable arrangements where possible.
If relevant information is not provided in advance, we cannot guarantee that the participant will be able to take part. If participation must be refused or ended on-site for safety reasons because the necessary information was not provided in advance, no refund will be issued.
Weather and Trail Conditions
Our activities take place outdoors and are dependent on weather, snow, ice, and trail conditions.
We reserve the right to cancel, postpone, modify, or replace an activity if weather or trail conditions make the originally planned activity unsafe or unsuitable.
If we need to change an activity due to weather or safety conditions, we will offer an alternative time or, where possible, a suitable replacement activity.
In extremely cold conditions, particularly when temperatures fall below -32°C, and especially when children are participating, we may change a husky safari to a husky walk or kennel visit if we consider this to be a safer and more suitable option.
You will only be charged for the activity that actually takes place.
The final decision regarding the safety and suitability of an activity is made by Husky Ranch Lapland.
Force Majeure
Husky Ranch Lapland shall not be held responsible for delays, cancellations, changes, or interruptions to an activity or accommodation booking caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control (force majeure).
Such circumstances may include, but are not limited to:
Extreme or exceptional weather conditions or sudden changes in weather.
Natural disasters, such as storms, floods, wildfires, or other severe natural events.
Epidemics or pandemics.
Fire or other serious damage to our premises or facilities.
Unexpected animal health or welfare issues that make an activity unsafe or unsuitable.
Government decisions, restrictions, regulations, or official orders.
Road closures, transport disruptions, strikes, or other significant disruptions to travel.
War, threat of war, terrorism, civil unrest, or other serious security situations.
Other exceptional and unforeseeable circumstances that are beyond our reasonable control and prevent us from providing the booked service safely.
If a force majeure event occurs, we will inform you as soon as reasonably possible and, where possible, offer an alternative date, activity, or other suitable arrangement.
If the activity cannot be provided due to a force majeure event, any refund or other compensation will be handled in accordance with applicable law and the circumstances of the cancellation. Husky Ranch Lapland will not be liable for additional costs, losses, or expenses incurred by participants as a result of a force majeure event, such as travel, accommodation, transportation, or other related expenses.
We strongly recommend that all guests have comprehensive travel and cancellation insurance covering such circumstances.
Animal Welfare
The wellbeing, safety, and happiness of our dogs are at the heart of everything we do.
We kindly ask all participants to treat our dogs with care, patience, and respect at all times. Our dogs are working animals and their wellbeing always comes first.
Participants must follow the instructions given by our guides when interacting with and handling the dogs. Please do not intentionally frighten, tease, hurt, or otherwise cause unnecessary stress to any animal.
For the safety and wellbeing of both people and animals, Husky Ranch Lapland reserves the right to intervene if a participant behaves in a way that is harmful, disrespectful, or unsafe toward the dogs, other participants, or staff.
This includes any behaviour that may cause injury, unnecessary stress, or unreasonable risk.
In serious cases, Husky Ranch Lapland reserves the right to immediately end the participant's involvement in the activity and ask them to leave the area. Participation terminated for safety or animal-welfare reasons will not be refunded.
