Experience the excitement of the upcoming winter season and join our Alaskan Huskies on a family-friendly 7 km adventure through the autumn landscapes of Lapland.
At our cosy family-owned husky ranch, you'll meet your team of eager sled dogs and get a glimpse into their training and daily life as they prepare for the winter ahead.
Depending on snow conditions, the tour is operated either with dog sleds or specially designed carts. Adults drive the dog teams while children enjoy the ride as passengers. There are 2–3 persons per sled or 2–4 persons per cart. In case the tour is done with the carts, the guides are driving the carts and you are just enjoying the ride.
The drive itself lasts approximately 30 minutes. After the tour, we'll gather around the campfire to enjoy hot drinks while sharing stories about our dogs and life at the ranch. You'll also have plenty of time to take photos and spend time with our friendly Alaskan Huskies.
This experience offers an authentic introduction to dog mushing and is made in eco-friendly way – no snowmobiles are used during the safari.
Available: From October to the beginning of December if the snow conditions allow it. If the snow conditions are not suitable for sledding the tour is done with the guide driven carts.

To help you make the most of your time with us, we've gathered a few useful things to know before your adventure.

The safari includes hot drinks by the open fire after the tour.

The pick/drop off from Äkäslompolo/Ylläsjärvi to Husky Ranch and back can be bought with an extra charge.

This activity is happening outdoors. Please wear warm and durable clothes. We have warm parka jackets you can borrow if needed. Please note that the activity is done by carts with wheels if we do not have the snow conditions for sledding. When driving carts, the guide will drive and the customers are sitting down and enjoying the drive.

We will charge a cancellation fee of 100% if booking is cancelled 30 days or less before the event
