Learn about their daily life, training and adventures in the Arctic, spend time with dogs of all ages and enjoy drinks and sweets by the campfire in our traditional laavu hut. Welcome to our cozy, family-owned Alaskan husky kennel in the small village of Kurtakko!
Come and discover life with our energetic, lovable pack of Alaskan huskies and learn what it takes to work with sled dogs throughout the year. During your visit, some of our dogs will be running freely in the dog yard, giving you the opportunity to play with them, cuddle, and get to know their individual personalities.
Our dogs are social, energetic, and affectionate. You’ll meet working-age sled dogs, retired senior dogs, and our younger dogs and puppies.
What does a sled dog do all year round?
Have you ever wondered what sled dogs do when there is no snow? During the visit, we’ll talk about their everyday life and answer questions such as:
What does a sled dog’s life look like throughout the year?
What happens during a long-distance sled dog race, and how do you prepare for one?
What kind of equipment is needed for longer sled dog expeditions in Arctic temperatures?
How do you train, care for, and work with a team of sled dogs?
You’ll have plenty of opportunities to ask questions and learn about life with these incredible working dogs.
At the end of the tour, we’ll relax in our traditional laavu hut by the dog yard and enjoy some drinks and sweet treats together.

The tour will be happening outdoors. Please dress for the weather and durable outdoor clothing is recommended when cuddling and playing with the dogs.
